Default odd del sol tranny issue i hope this is a known problem

ok so my wife has a 1993 del sol si. it has 180,000miles on it, and it has had a dealer fluid change done about 25-30k ago tops. what the transmission does is once in a blue moon, but tends to be when colder, first start of the day, pull out of the parking space, put it in drive and pull out onto the road, once over about 10 mph, there is a relatively loud, but not very loud whine. it does not shift out of first gear. its as if you put it in LOW on the selector, but it whines, then she decelerated for a light, [ thinks she heard the tires squeal or chirp] but i dunno if i believe her, and waited at the light, then went ahead, it whined, didnt shift, she on both accelerations wen to like 3500 or 4000 rpm, and was lightly accelerating, and then it shifted fine, the whine stopped, and the whole rest of the 20 mile trip to work and back stop start go all gears then its fine, and it only does this rarely, it hasnt done it for 8 months, but prior to that it did it 2 weeks prior to that. today, when it did it, it wasnt all that cold, about 55-60 outside and the 8 months prior to that it was super cold, right about 0 degrees! i have checked the throttle cables adjustment, per the honda service manual, and it needed a slight adjustment, so i did, and that was done a year ago or so. the car is driven respectfully, its not hot-rodded, or riced or anything, jst a good old reliable daily driver. i work in a shop, and i talked to some hgher up guys, and the only thing we could think of would be that some sliding shuttle valcve, or some other valve that affects the governor pressure has worn some, and it vibrates, and doesntlet it shift. its weird, whatever it is, once it lets the car shift the noise is gone, instantly. YES the fluid is full and good.

o im sorry, a simple no would suffice, i have faith that somebody here knows about automatic trannies. dont doubt people on here guy, that will get you yelled at. there are a lot of really smart people on here, that usually onely show themselves when others wont help. and no i didnt come into a honda forum to get told to go away and pay aamco.

tell her to try letting it warm up for a lil bit i know it sounds redundant but if the trans is cold it could have a valve or solenoid sticking, sounds like once its warm the problem goes away, when metal changes temps it will contract=cold and expand=hot! other than that idk but good luck with it!
