OBD2B car with OBD2A wires?

OBD2B car with OBD2A wires? is it possible? i am thinking about doing a engine swap, but i wanted to use a obd2a ecu, is it ok for me to get a obd2a wires in a obd2b wires harness.

you need a conversion harness to run different ecus, you cannot swap harnesses
