Default OBD2 D16a VTEC JDM ECU with Engine swap?

I have a few questions about this swap. I am swapping out the d16y8 (rod knock) from a 98 civic ex to the obd2 d16a vtec. This car is an auto and I found the auto ecu for this engine (d16a) for $45. So the questions I have are, could I theoretically just swap the usdm ecu with the jdm ecu and put this d16a in and have no issues? Would it all be plug and play or would I have to depin anything from the harness or change anything at all? I know if I kept the y8 ecu I read I would have to depin and do the ckp trick and change oil pumps?, but if I just jump straight to the d16a jdm ecu I assume none of that is necessary and it should make this swap a plug and play correct?

CKP & oil pump differences are for OBD1-OBD2 and vice versa.

If you're going from OBD2 to OBD2, that stuff is irrelevant.

The importer I am getting the engine from said OBD2 D16A doesn't come with CKP so I am not sure if maybe it is actually and obd1 or what.

Guess you'll just have to wait and see then.

I worked out a deal with my importer for the ecu so I will try and see what happens.
