Re: obd2 b18c (ekb16)
well hypatheticly speaking, that motor does not belong in that car. One, when you run that car on a smog machine, the computer asks the size of motor, if the tech knows what hes looking at he will first know that it is a bigger litre motor, and the machine will then ask if is SOHC or DOHC, which is usually in the same Question as i mentioned. But if you connect EVERYTHING including EVAp and such, you might be able to take it to a test only center and try it. I had a b16a in my eg and needed to get it smogged, i had a cat and all stock parts, and my car passed all emissions. The smog tech didnt know that the motor was a DOHC and in that case i think i was a lil lucky. I guess its a guessing game. push comes to shove you might just pay someone to just pass it for ya

i was thinkin that since 96-00 b18c is obd2 and there isnt a way to tell exactly what year the motor is unless they punch in the # from the motor which i dont noe if they will or will not do at a smog shop so i might still pass emissions since its a obd2 motor in a obd2 car.
