Default obd1 or obd2

ok i want to build up a b18 gsr engine to drop in my 1994 Honda Civic Ex and my friend has a 1996 GSR that he is gonna let me have and i was wondering to just make it easier is it possible to just put and obd1 cylinder head so i don have to mess with all the sensors Thanks for any help or advice. I am running a B16a right now.

Don't swap heads.

Ignore the sensors and use an OBD-I ecu.

If you are going to build it up, you will need a tune so it will be easier obd1.

What sensors? The GSR engine will wire up using your OBD1 harness, just swap the distributor, (and maybe the injectors). Everything else plugs in.

The OBDI ecu doesn't look for the knock sensor.

Just let it sit in the block, or remove it if you like.

No harm, no foul.

Depends on the ECU... P30's check for knock sensors, and so do P72's. If your using a chipped P28, then don't worry about it.
