Default OBD1 o2 and OBD2 o2 the same?

I wanted to know if the OBD1 and OBD2 o2 sensors were the same.... BC i just did a swap from a 99 civic EX to 93 hatch CX. I have the rewire kit o2 sensor and VTEC harness I ordered, but still getting code 41. Some one tole me that the o2 sensors were different so I need a OBD1 o2 sensor insted of a OBD2 sensor? Yes, they are 4 wire if you were wondering. Can someone explain why is this?
