obd1 gsr knock and oxygen sensors
I put in my obd1 gsr in my 92 cx hatch this weekend. I got to questions.
1 what is the eastiest way to run the wiring for the knock sensor and how do i get it to plug into the p 72 or do i just splice it in.
2. I have a jdm headr 4 to 1. I just use the oxygen sensor from my stock d15. I cant find where to plug the senser to the wiring harness. Is it becuase i need a gsr sensor.
What other sensors do i need to check the wiring harness for? to clear the check engine light? It pulls hard just wanna know what to check make sure i have everything pluged in.
thanx in advanced
Its awesome to have a gsr hatch as a daily driver and a 93 toyota mr2 turbo for a weeken car lol

i know that on my b16, it had to be rewired to move the o2 sensor by the front of the header (intake side) to the rear of the motor (exhaust side) at the rear of the header......... is it the stock wiring harness??

You could probably alleviate your troubles by using a GSR engine harness...
How many wires are on the CX knock sensor? If it's not a 4-wire then it's likely not compatible with the P72

YES, It is the stock wiring harness on the car. The wiring harness on the motor is gsr i believe. We arent even sure where the plug is. Is it totally different type plug from the d15 to gsr? am i gunna have to get a gsr o2 sensor. Does the o2 sensor plug into the engine harness or does plug into the car harness?
The knock ssensor i believe has a single wire coming out of it. ( Red w/ blue tracer). So does that mean its not compatiable? My stock motor didnt have a knock sensor i dont think

No your stock motor didn't have a knock sensor, only B-series VTEC engines had them in 92-95. You do need a different O2 sensor, I was afraid you did only have a 1-wire. You need a 4-wire sensor, that's probably the reason you can't find a compatible plug. The O2 sensor should plug into the engine harness afaik...
While VTEC wiring is already in the dash-side of the harness, I don't think knock or secondary intake solenoid wiring is, since no Civics had either of those.

yea you need a 4 wire o2 sensor. i wired it up myself with my cx harness. you just need some schematics and patience.
as for the easiest way to wire the knock sensor, just run a wire from the knock
sensor along the harness (tape it all up nice so it looks clean) and directly into the correct ecu pinout. you need an obd1 ecu pin to connect it to the ecu. i got an entire cut harness from a junk yard with a bunch of them for like 25 bucks.

Re: obd1 gsr knock and oxygen sensors (chatch152)
So can i go to a parts store and get a 94-95 gsr o2 sensor
and i need to go 2 a junk yard and get a car harness or a engine so i can get a ecu pin?
If i get a stock gsr o2 sensor shouldnt it plug right in

A stock GSR sensor should plug right into your GSR engine harness, that's correct.
You just need to cut off one of the connectors that plugs into the ecu inside the car (any 92-95 Civic), and leave some inches of wire on them. So you can take some of the pins to add wires onto and put in your own harness. Also you need to grab a round 2-wire plug to use on the knock sensor. The knock sensor only uses 1 wire, but the same type of plug is used on any engine harness for IACV, VTEC pressure, p/s pressure, water temp, etc...
