OBD1 92-95 jdm b16a swap into OBD2 2000 si - Will it run?
I just bought a 2000 si w/ a jdm 88-91 b16 (obd0) but its running the stock 2000 si ob2 wiring harness and it ran till I drove it in the rain and my aem cai sucked up water and the engine cracked 2 rods in half. Im buying another 92-95 jdm b16a which is obd1 BUT i have the stock obd2 wiring harness. My question is, If i bolt up the engine and plug everything up, Will it run ?

And to answer your question
I would assume before the hydrolock inccident that all was well, motor made decent power, no faults (CEL) ect.
You would simply replace the long block assy. and use the sensor/wiring setup that was being used with that older motor.
On the good side you have a little more pinch of power out of that sir2 motor for sure compared to the old salty B16.
And the butt dyno will notice.

Yes. The OBD1 engine will bolt in. Your harness will plug into it. It will run. Re-use your OBD2 distributor.

****, how can I identify my injectors? I have no idea if the people who owned the car before me used obd0 injectors or if they used the stock obd2 injectors

What do I do about the crank sensor on the obd2 wiring harness?

Re: OBD1 92-95 jdm b16a swap into OBD2 2000 si - Will it run?
well i just figured out that the 92-95 jdm b16a doesnt use a cranks sensor so i had to put my b16a2 crank sensor in the block, im guessing i have to swap my b16a2 manifold as well cause the 92-95 model has an extra sensors on the throttle body and also on the intake manifold, all this so i can run my obd2 wiring harness. has anyone swapped a 92-95 b16a into a em1? if so, what changes did you have to make? (without converting to obd1)
