B16A 92-95 (SiR-II) into a 2000 Civic Si
About 3 months ago a guy near me hydrolocked his 2000 Civic Si, from he did all he could to try and get it back running (change plugs, try to flush out water, etc). From what he says it sounds like theres BBs bouncing around in the engine when it starts and after he starts it there is oil all over the ground. He decided to go ahead and order a 2nd Gen B16A from HMO, motor got here in 4 days
I'm going to start working on it tomorrow so I figured I would try to gater some information today. I believe the B16A 92-95 (SiR-II) is OBD-1 and his car is OBD-2. Here's some questions I have:
What electronics do we need off the old engine? Distributor, alternator, etc?
We need the crank flucuation sensor, any tips on remoing the oil pump, or even a quick cliffnote how-to?
Anything else to look out for? Thanks

im not 2 sure
but ur prolly gonna have to use the ecu from OBD2 if your using the ob2 harness the stock harness thats in the car now.
and u have to use the dist. off the badd motor since that plugs up to the 0bd2 plugs. this is from my understanding i would get further infro though

Re: (civicrida3)
i did a similar swap to my em1. except my jdm b16a was a 1st gen and I have jrsc. Also your JDM motor is obd1, while mines was obd0. So you might not need to do some of the things I did...
basically I didnt use anything from the JDM motor except the motor itself. I stripped down the jdm b16a. I swapped all sensors and accessories from the b16a2 and slapped it on the JDM b16a. You're pretty much converting the older, JDM motor to obd2 so you can use your stock wiring harness.
injectors
fuel rail and FPR
throttle cable
throttle body
map sensor
air temp sensor
crank pulley assembly (obd2 uses crank angle sensor)
crank pulley cover
motor mounts
vtec solenoid assembly
power steering assembly
air conditioning assembly
distributor
water pipe, water pump, thermostat and thermostat housing
alternator and alternator brackets
header
intake manifold (jrsc)
timing belt (if u like, good time to replace anyways with a new one)
The items above is what I removed from the b16a2 and slapped it on the jdm b16a. Again, you're doing this so your obd2 wiring harness will match up to the jdm b16a once it's all put together. No need to splice in ****, all plug and play. You can also see I have jrsc. So I had to swap the IM. I don't know if your JDM intake manifold is the same as the US one. If it is, then you wouldn't need to swap that out., at least I dont think so. Now I might have forgotten a few items, but those are a few.
Also, I dont know if all JDM b16's came with an oil cooler stock. Mine did, but I had to remove it, because it wouldnt clear the JRSC. B16a2 dosent come with one, so I thought it would be ok. Been well over a year, fine so far Just a side note...
Good luck on the swap, let us know how it goes
