Default O2 Sensor Spec '97 Civic

My Canadian '97 Civic EX has thrown a PO135 code -- upstream oxygen sensor. I've done research and have learned a lot, and come up with conflicting data / advice, and am now stuck (tl;dr) -- cutting to the chase:

Would you please advise:

Am I correct in understanding that the [NTK 24542] O2 Sensor is the true part supplied by Honda as OEM?

Thanks very much for your help.

Did you check whether dash fuse 15 is blown?

I'll check on that and order the O2 Sensor only if fuse 15 is still good.

Thanks for the help!

You should also Ohm test the O2 sensor heater element and determine whether battery voltage for the O2 heater element reaches the O2 sensor connector.

Does your Civic have a D16Y8 engine?

I'll do an ohm check on the O2 heater element.

I've got the D16Y7 engine...

Thanks!

Just a quick update for anyone coming along with a similar O2 Sensor problem. I should have done this in January, but anyway, here it is now.

Fuse 15 was not blown. If you get a PO135 code, definitely check this. It's a quick and easy test, and will save you time and money if you just need a fuse.

I didn't Ohm test the circuit, as I had already ordered the replacement O2 Sensor (if the new Sensor is good, then the circuit will be good). Again, this is an easy test to perform, and will give you a good heads up if the problem is upstream from the O2Sensor.

The new O2 Sensor resolved the PO135 code, and resolved the resulting low-idle.

Thanks very much to RonJ for the support!
