Default O2 Sensor

Hi, I have a 97 LS and have just discovered that my O2 sensor has broken off from my after market headers. I don't know how this happened, but I have a few questions. I know that some headers don't even have a spot for the O2 sensor, so does this mean I don't need one? What are the pros and cons of driving without an O2 sensor? Also, can I cause damage to the car by driving it with the broken O2 sensor in the sensor hole on the downpipe? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

Default Re: O2 Sensor (97Tegra)

without a functioning o2 sensor the car will be in limp mode meaning reduced performance. there are no pro's to running without one.
