Default o2 sensor problems on dc header

i just bought a dc header for my friend's 92 civic. the problem is the hole for the o2 sensor is too low on the header. we triend extending the wires but it touched the header too much and ended up melting it. now the engine light is on. i know i could put another hole but i don't want to do that. i want to use the existing original hole.

i would just do whatever it takes to keep the wires from touching the header (i.e. hanger or plastic clamp).....also, dont exted the wires TOO much, becuase that will still leave the possibility of melting....good luck

Cut and splice (read: Solder sp?) the existing wires with about 6 inch extensions, then use either heat shrink or electrical tape (heat shrink prefered) and cover them. Once you have done that, zip tie the wires in a safe place away from heated objects.
