Not sure what's rattling
I have a 97 Civic EX with automatic transmission that's been making this rattling noise for a few years now and I've finally decided to do something about it. It's coming from the engine, and it seems like it's coming from underneath it. I poked around through the engine bay and under the car to see if there was anything obviously loose and I couldn't find anything. Any idea's?

Re: Not sure what's rattling
Could be the heat shields, or the spring bolts that hold the header to the exhaust. I had the same problem and ended up removing all of my heatshields before finding out my spring bolts just needed to be tightened. It only happened at idle though.

I read about the heat shields but I'm pretty sure my car doesn't have them anymore. I'll give the spring bolts a try tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion!
