Noob question: 1995 Del Sol Si engine type
As you may have seen from my other thread, I am trying to fix the transmission issues with this car. Have been calling junk yards around to find a transmission and some of them expected my car to have a DOHC engine.
Now, I know what a DOHC looks like and my car definitely has the SOHC 1.6L - I am not near the car now but I distinctly recall reading somewhere under the hood that it was a D16Z6. Checking the VIN decoders online was not much help: the one on this site states that an EH6 in the VIN means "Civic Del Sol 1.6L" while another decoded a DOHC.
What do you think? This car in the 1995 model year didn't come with a DOHC in the Si trim, did it?
EDIT: Do cars with EG2 in the VIN have the DOHC 1.6L?

Re: Noob question: 1995 Del Sol Si engine type
No, the 92-95 SI has a D16Z6, which is a SOHC 1.6L VTEC engine. The 99-00 Civic SI has a B16A2, which is a DOHC 1.6L VTEC engine. Completely different year range.
The 95 Del Sol VTEC has the DOHC engine, not the Del Sol SI.
