Default Noisy A/C bearing in D15z1

I've pretty much had a noisy A/C bearing since I got the compressor replaced 4 years ago and lived with it until it started to annoy me.

Is it worth replacing the bearing in the compressor? I could get another compressor but if I do that it has to be R12 (R134a does not cool as good as R12 in Hondas from my experience).

And to describe the noise, it's more of a whine that gets louder as the revs go up.

Have you checked other possibilities before looking at the A/C compressor bearing? If it started as soon as you put the new A/C pump on, are you sure you didn't over-tighten the belt, putting extra stress on the bearings? Are you 100% sure it's the A/C compressor bearing, and not another bearing?

It's not the idle pulley, I know that for sure.

The belt wasn't over-tightened at all, and I'm pretty sure it's the compressor bearing because I had it checked out with a couple of other Honda guys I know. I've pretty much lived with it as long as it kept the cold air flowing but the noise does annoy me and makes me wonder how much longer the compressor has before it goes out.

If I can vacuum out all the freon and either swap out for another R12 compressor or replace the bearing and reuse the R12 back into either or, I would do it in a heart beat.
