Default Noise when I let off the clutch

Whenever I let off the clutch my engine gets twice as loud. As soon as I release it, its like you can hear the clutch spinning or something, or perhaps the flywheel? It's a loud rattling spin.. anyone know why this happens? Does it happen to any of you?

Also, do any of you have a Stage 3 clutch in your car? Is it hard for you to get off to a start in 1st for you? It's horrible for me. Mine is a bitch and constantly grabs at low RPMs and shakes my entire car. Any help with my problems is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

what brand clutch.......is it a sprung hub? the thing about having the car shake...don't worry you're just not used to driving a more performance clutch. Just rev it a tad higher when your car is shaking...Oh and the noise is probably just from the clutch engaging i forgot what its called but its common with ACT Puck type clutches.. Oh and don't let out the clutch so soon or you'll break something like and engine mount... :D

Might be the throw out bearing. Alot of times when you buy a new clutch it does not come with a new throw out bearing. When you mash in on the clutch the noise will go away right? And when you let out it comes back? If so more then likely it is the throw out bearing. Not very expensive but you have to pull the tranny to replace it.

throw out bearing
Either burnt, or whom ever replaced didn't use anti seize.

Do you hold in clutch, such as during a stop light?

That will do it...

I had the same problem with my car recently. Thought it was the throw out bearing, made a lot of noise unless the clutch was pushed in. Pulled the tranny, and it turned out to be the clutch itself, the spring/weights were very loose, almost falling off. Replaced the clutch (ACT extreme), and the problems is gone.

I had the same thing about a year ago, rattling noise when I let my foot off the clutch in nuetral. everyone told me ..throw out bearing , throw out bearing. then my tranny went out. Broke on the freeway, vouldn't get it in gear and that rattling sound got real LOUD.

put in a new (used) tranny and new clutch , including throwout bearing, and it still faintly makes that sound. So I'm just waiting to get stranded on the road again
