Hey guys, Im not new to the site, just lost my account.

Ive got a 98 civic Lx with 1.6 auto trans. It over heated on my wife so I re-suffaced the head (warped) and put everything back together to experience no starts when the car was warmed up (sounds like a HG right?) Good compression (120psi+), good spark, watched the fuel spray like crazy out of the rail. On the assumption that the block was warped I swapped out engines for a junk yard special (crashed car that they said ran good) Got in the new engine and it started right up but on test drive had a mis. Came back next day to assess the mis and it wouldnt start. Did a compression test and all good numbers. Tried starting again and it started. Took for a drive, came home and shut if off, after a min it wont restart. Re did a compression test and it starts... wtfudge??? Any ideas? Thanks for your insights

coolant temp sensor/main relay/ign switch are the usual suspects..

When it will not start, is there spark? Does the CEL cycle on and off and the fuel pump prime? These have to be tested during a time when it will not start.

its either the starting realy below the glovebox or a bad ground cable to the starter
