No sticker on the inside of the hood.
I purchased my 2000 Honda Civic last year. I did a vin check and the car came out clean. I went to the dealership...(not the one that I purchased it from) but just to get an oil change and the guy was like, "DO you know that this car has been in an accident because you don't have your original stickers on the hood." I was soooo weirded out and felt funny about that comment. When I had my vin # checked out with carfax....it didn't show that. The previous owner leased the car so I am kinda having a panic attack about this...what do you guys think????????

the hood may have just been replaced....it doesnt mean that the whole car was in an accident...

hood, bumper, and fender can be easily replace.
check to see if there any damage to the radiator support, cross member...
if there is damage...it will look like they did some welding job in there.

Yea. that sucks.
I have a similar problem.
I checked out this used civic on carfax and it came out clean. At the dealership it looked/drove fine.
but my passengers notice that there's loud wind type noises by their door. Whenever i get my car serviced at my local dealer they always ask me if my car has been in an accident because the passenger side door isn't closing properly.
once in a while i have to ask the dealer to tighten the nuts/bolts to my passenger door cuz it gets loose after awhile.

also check to see if the vin numbers are still on the fender and hood. that is a good indication if the parts were replaced. just because it came out clean on carfax doesn't mean that it was never in an accident.

carfax will buy back your car if the report is false an dthey missed an accident, not that anybody wants to lose their car but if you are weirded out by this then call carfax and talk some ISHT.

I have the same thing on my '92 Dx. The car was never in a front end accident, but the sticker is gone. I bought it from the same dealership that sold the car brand new. They had it on record that the first owner replaced the hood, because of vandals and rock chips. But know it's got another big rock dent from those damn dump trucks on the highway that cut in front of you . I wouldn't be to worried about it. Most likley it was just replaced.

Dont forget the people working at dealerships are idiots most of the time, and there allways trying to get you to buy a new car.
How do you know the sticker dident just fall off? But its more then likely the hood may have had a dent or something in it and rather then fixing it, its cheaper to just get a new hood 95% of the time. Thats what we do at my body shop stock parts for civics fenders hoods normally cost no more then $40 a piece you cant fix them for less then that when you include labor and material so why bother?

Anything could have happened. You should inspect the frame for any signs of an accident and if none are present then your probably safe assuming the hood just got dented and replaced. those hoods are real flimsy and get damaged easily.
