I have an OBD1 GSR in my EJ8. It ran awesome all the way up until one day when it just stopped starting. IThere is no spark on all 4 plugs. I tested the coil and ICM, swapped the rotor and cap, made sure there was power going to the dizzy and still nothing. At this point wtf is left? Ecu? I've never heard of an ecu just stopping working before. There's no check light and there were no signs of anything wrong until it stopped starting.

help me brainstorm!

Tested continuity on the OBD1 to OBD2 converter harness for the ICM pinouts too. Tested good.

Also Tested the yellow/green wire from ECU to ICM, good too.

Don't know what else it could be.

Have you tested the battery?

Used a known good battery for all testing.

I am shooting in the dark, is there an ECU fuse, check that.

Igition fuse, check that etc.

Are you testing from the battery directly or hooked up to car, check the fusable link make sure that is not burnt out.

Checked the ICM and ECU fuses. Battery is connected as normal.

Think it might be the dizzy itself? If the pickup is bad it could be that...

Try borrowing a distributor from a friend and trying that out.
