Default no spark

i put a 1991 1.8L in my 1998 civic that came stock with a 1.6L non-vtec engine. i used the stock dist. and made a adapter plug to go into my stock wiring harness. i used the stock wiring harness off of the 1.6. all wire colors were the same in both dist. seems to be right. the 1.6 has a sensor down on the crank shaft. the 1.8 did not. how do i get around this prob?

i used the 1.8 dist. and just made a jump wire between the 1.8 dist. and the stock 1.6 wiring harness. i realized that the 1.6 had a crank sensor and the 1.8 does not. so i orderd a jump wire for the computer and bought a 98 ls computer hoping that will fix the prob.
