Well I got home tonight after work and my girlfriend called me from her work and said her car wouldnt start. I got my keys and headed to the mall to check out her car. When I got there I told her to try starting the car( I had the hood proped up). It was just trying to start but it wouldnt. Her lights would work, radio and everything electrical. I thought well alt and battery were okay.

I told her to put the ignition from the off position to the on while I was listening in the engine bay area. I heard a click click click click click from the fuel pump area(NOTE: This is when the car was just in the on position). I was thinking, hmmmmm bad fuel pump.

Is it the fuel pump or something else???

well the fuel pump is not in the engine bay it is in the rear of the car in the gas tank. the clicks you heard were the fuel injectors starting up. get in the back seat and listen for the fuel pump when the key is first turned on. it is like a humming noise

oh yeah I forgot to mention it is a 93 Toyota Celica. I know this is Honda tech but guys come on there alot of knowledgeable people here. Hope you guys can help me.

does it crank at all or does it just click?

it doesnt crank at all. When she trys starting it, it just trys to start but it doesn't. It makes no weird sounds when starting. It just sounds like it regularly would when you start a car but never fully starts up.

check the batt. terminals make sure they r tight, check the connection to all the wires thta are going to the alt make sure they r clean and tight, and make sure the starter is good too, if you dont know bring ur batt, start, and alt, to the nearest like Autozone / pepboys and get them tested

well the nearest autozone is about 5 min down the road from where her car is sitting. Will autozone drive 5 min away and test it?

prob. not dude but at least take out the bat and alt b/c they r easy enough and bring them there they will test them for u for free

i really dont think it is the alt or battery because her radio, lights, high beams works, bright as normal. So does anyone else have any thoughts?

check the plug wires, plugs, and distributor cap... my moms car couldn't start one day she has a 91 civic and i noticed her cap was cracked... switched the cap and rotor while i was at it and she cranked right over.
