I have a 99 Civic DX (D16y7 auto) what auto transmissions are compatible?? Will the above one from a 96 EX Fit?

yea it will fit..all d seris trannies fit on other d series

Yes it will work.
The gearing between EX and DX are the same.
Unlike Manual transmissions.
Some may say the tranmission codes Differ from 96-98 and 99-00, But i had a 98 Auto DX transmission on a 99 EX motor and it ran flawlessly when my car was Automatic.

Drain your tranmission fluid first?
Use Honda ATF.
Clean transmission (outside) with simple green or an engine cleaner.
Not much else.

So will a d16y8 tranny from a Civic LX fit my d16y7 Civic DX ? Does an LX auto tranny have different gearing????

Im pretty positive that all 96-00 Civic Auto transmissions have the Same gearing.

And yes it will fit.
