newb questions
Hey Guys.
Newb here.
Quick question.
How do I find out what engine code I have.
1993 Honda Civic 1.5L (16V)
I'm either thinking of a rebuild or a swap.
If I swap I was thinking B18C1
But to save on headache and cost would it be better just to rebuild mine?
I'm not going for huge power or anything. Definately going for mileage but with a bit more power so I can pass people with confidence on the highway!
Thanks a lot.

Re: newb questions (buzz_42)
wat kind of d15 is it?? is it d15b7? d15b? the only one thats good with mileage and power is the d15b which is the jdm version of the single cam, if u want to go b series is also good on gas if u get a long geared tranny like an ls or gsr,

Yup, that D15B7 is the motor that comes out of the DX/LX civics.. it's non vtec ... just swapped one into my CX to get around. personally im saving up for a GSR in the spring after paint. im not going to waste my time on the D series engine (no offense to you single cam ppls). here is a good link right here on H-T regarding any swap you can get: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/878010 . Also, to avoid reposts try searching for a topic that might have been covered already. dont feel too bad about asking noob questions, its why we have a forum .

most honda motors are good on gas milage IMHO. about having some extra power on the highway, the B18C1 would do it for you im sure. its a little expensive but has a lot of potential

Slap a Z6 head and trans on it, very cheap, very easy, shouldn't cost you anymore than 4-600 for both of them, very easy, simply bolt-on, you can use the same axles, etc. just get that and run a p28 ECU and you'll be sittin pretty, a lot more pep than your B7 while still retaining your ags mileage.

Another Newb Question. I'm assuming that Z6 is an acura head. What model car can I rob these parts off of? Is it necessary to change the computer and the transmission? I really appreciate the help guys!

the z6 head is from a d16z6 which comes out of the del sol si, 92-95 civic ex's and its pretty peppy...
switching the head and trans onto your d15 motor would give ya more power and keep your gas mileage... z6 is not acura lol dont worry..
btw youll only be able to post 5 posts a day until you hit 25 and then after that youll be able to go into the marketplace and other parts of the site and post more than 5 times a day (since nobody told me that when i joined i figure i should tell people that are new that come in here)
