Default New rims/tires - Balance Issue?

Hey all, I traded my stock 14's for 17x100 on my 2000 Honda Civic LX.

Loved the look, (Could get lowered but gonna get some coils.)

Ran into the problem of the way the car drove because I get a pretty big vibration at about 50-55+. At first I realized that when I put the tires on, I didn't pay much attention to the position of the tires (the rotation, I'm new at working on cars.)

I corrected my mistake, and now the vibration isn't that bad. I bought the rims off some guy from his Civic, so I'm not sure if it could be a balance?

The rims may also not be lug-centric like a typical Honda wheel and may require special lugs and/or concentric hub rings to center the wheel on the hub.

Two of the tires have weights on them.

The car came off of a civic so, Wouldn't he have experienced it too?

He could have, and chose to ignore it, or thinks it's normal. There are a lot more stupid car owners than there are smart ones. Remember that every time you buy used parts. 17" wheels, though

One of the wheels may be bent or just out of balance. Putting that wheel on the rear may help your shaking issue.

Go get them balanced. A good tire shop will let you know if the rims are bent badly or if the tires themselves are the issue or if it was just a balance.

Why do you think he decided to trade them?
