New here with ek sedan
Been on the forums for a little while but i just recently got my first honda.
Was always doubting honda's but i love this thing, best mpg every and super clean sexy look
Got it super stock, but added just the typical daily driver add ons.
Looking forward to meeting fellow ek sedan drivers.
Also got a couple questions for you guys.
I got ahold of some free coilover sleeves (i know i know cheap..) but its just until i finish my other car.
But its all the way to the lowest it should go, how can i go lower? I dont want to cut springs never ever. Anything i can do without going with real coilovers for now?
Also i know its my dd but what would be a easy/cheap/reliable swap for this im not looking for super fast just something to getup and go when i need to.

Re: New here with ek sedan
Welcome, leave it the way it is until you can get good suspension on there.
also i'd ditch the front lip, knockoff lips like that make it look tacky and take away from the car, i'd go with the 96-98 CTR lip if anything.

Forced i know its a weird noob question but wheres the best place to find dressup stuff like that? I cant find any around my neighborhood here in portland. Either that or im not looking hard enough.
Also function and form coilovers type 1 are they worth the 630? Or should i just keep it koni yellows and gc.

Seriously, you want to go lower?
You can't with crap components. You're already lower than I would ride on good components, but I know some people would disagree with me. On stock shocks and junk springs, you're going to be bouncing and scraping everywhere. Just my opinion.
Now, I know a ton of people swear by the F&F type 1's, and I know they've gotten good results, but I just don't trust $630 coilovers. I still don't think they'll last, just based on what I've seen over the years from other cheap coilovers. In 2-3 years, you'll see tons of people complaining that they blew out or snapped in half, just like we saw on the omnipowers, the ksports, etc. Not that they all will, but some will. And I don't want my coilover snapping. I'm not against coilovers at all, I just don't think that fundamental suspension components are a good thing to cheap out on.
I've heard of a few people who have gotten dud Konis, but not a lot, and Koni stands behind their products. All things equal, I still like the Koni/GC better than cheap coilovers. I have heard that Koni has given people crap about the warranty who blew their shocks while they were driving slammed to the ground. I've always felt that rolling slammed is a crapshoot though, and you're going to break something eventually. Koni denied warranty because (IMO) they were being used in an abusive manner... they weren't designed to be 1" from the ground, they just don't damper fast enough for the spring rate required to do it. I understand why Koni would deny those warranty claims.
Obviously, lots of people on honda-tech slam with no problems, and there are as many opinions here as users. That's just mine. I appreciate the look of slammed cars, but I'd never drive one in the real world.
For dressup stuff, go to hmotorsonline.com and click 'What's new.' Or call them. They always have a ton of OEM lips and stuff at very reasonable prices.
Also: no offense, but those blue hubcaps are whack, dude.

Re: New here with ek sedan
when i had my EK i used a knock off lip. Do to the fact that getting a CTR or even a SiR oem lip is a PITA. I looked and never found one. So i said screw it. And bought a knock off one. They all can break. Even OEM. Just that the OEM (200 bux or so) would **** me off more if i broke it.
