Default 1992-1995 EG Cluster Question, Is This A VTI-S?

Wondering what kind of cluster this is? I been doing a serch and can't find a picture of this one. The picture I am posting here is from E-Bay. Any insight to this cluster being real or what year, model it's from.

USDM. Look at the speedometer gauge; it's in MPH. If it was JDM, EDM, or CDM (Canadian), it would be in KM/H for the main numbers. It's also a '92-'95 cluster.

UKDM clusters come in MPH too. It might be a UKDM cluster, but most of them go to 145 MPH. The needles have almost certainly been painted.

Are you sure though, UKDM speedos are in MPH. Look at the heater gauge, it has a blue square for cold.

That blue could have been painted in. I've never seen a UKDM speedo cluster with a 130 MPH limit. The more I look at it, the more I think it's a USDM cluster with yellow painted needles.

I've had a couple of UKDM clusters and they didn't have the blue low temp gauge, nor did they have yellow needles. If we could see the parking brake lamp, that would be a better indicator...it has an icon for the hand brake as opposed to the word BRAKE (just as the JDM version does).

Thinking you guys are right, I was the highest bidder but have not paid for the item yet. Think I am going to have to pass on it cause it's mostly what your saying fungus mungus. Cause I can't find another one like this when I do a search on Google or e-bay UK

Good idea. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that the VTI-s wasn't available until the EKs came out. These were limited-edition cars offered by UK dealers. I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a VTI-s EG.

Guess I am just going to have to take a hit on my feedback if he gives me a negative for not paying. Thought something was funny about it then when I was doing a search I never ran across a picture of this cluster.

Don't worry...he can't neg you anymore...eBay took that option away from sellers last year. It's his bad anyway. Let him know that you don't believe this to be a genuine UKDM VTI-s cluster and be done with it.

Sure looks USDM to me. Note the following:

  • fuel/temp gauge says "Unleaded fuel only" this only found on USDM Clusters, Canadian/European/JDM clusters do not have this text.
  • Check engine light says "check" inside it. other countries (including Canada) simply have the light, it says nothing inside it.
  • Cluster has an SRS light, most countries didn't have airbags in Civics at this time.
  • Cluster has cruise control light, I have yet to see a JDM civic with cruise control, and I can't ever recall seeing a European VTI cluster with cruise either
  • Speedometer is MPH, this by itself rules out Japan and Canada as a country of origin.

Took a look at the auction pics again, and yes, I'm 100% sure this is a USDM cluster. The brake light should have the brake icon rather than the word BRAKE if it were a UKDM cluster. And yes, UKDM clusters didn't have cruise control.

And as was stated earlier, they were in MPH, although all of them (even the regular Civic models) went to 145 MPH.
