New guy about to buy a Civic...
Hey guys,
Im gonna by a civic this summer. I was thinking of getting a 94-95 Ex with a 5 speed. Something that looks good and get good milage. Im in my last year of school and at my brokest perhaps so fuel economy is what I have in mind. Im going to mod the car a little until I graduate. Right now, I have a 93 Chrysler Lebaron with a 3.0 V6. She has 130,200 hard miles and she is tired. Its been an ok car for the amount of driving I do but Im tired of the damn thing. Buying this car taught me two things; dont by a used mid 90's american car, and how to be a mechanic. I know this car/platform like the back of my hand. I've worked on Hondas and I know what they are like but its still going to take some time for me to learn the new car.
Is there anything really bad about these two years? Does anyonne have any recomendations for me as far as what to look for when Im buying?
Hopefully by the beginning of June, I will have my Civic and I can be posting more.
Much thanks.

but really coupes are irrelevent. The hatches are where its at. I just got my second one yesterday. 94 black Si with the same engine that would come in that EX you wanted. Its nicer looking and better handling IMHO.

IMHO, coupes are just as great as hatches if not better. they're actually a "full car". you can't just say that hatches are nicer looking, because look how many hatches there are compared to coupes on H-T. as both a hatch and coupe owner, ive learned that EVERYONE and their mom has a hatch. SI's are basically the same as EX's, yes, but how long are you gonna wait to come across a clean one with low miles, clean body, low price, etc . unless you find a 92-95 si, all of the hatches come with zero amentities (e.g. sunroof, power widows, mirrors, steering, 4 wheel disc, abs, etc) you would spend more money on that **** rather than getting a EX and having it all, and even if you upgrade, its easy to sell your **** to a hatch owner seriously, a coupe would be more presentable, but if you're still in high school, a hatch would probably do you right. sorry for the rant, haha

yes, you do have a good point. I would like to have the power windows and power door locks. I even considered getting a coupe for that reason. But I just don't like the look of the coupes, I thought I did I just don't really get into the EG coupes, the ek's are alright though. I did just find an SI in GREAT shape with 157k miles on it. Its completly stock too. I rare find. I wouldn't trade this for any coupe any day.
