new eg hatch (my build thread)
B18B1 swap (1,500 miles on rebuild)
complete type R internals, 12:1 compression
itr crank
one piece header
AEM fuel rail
B16 trans with stage two clutch and lightweight flywheel
all new gaskets, new water and oil pump
front camber kit, new upper and lower ball joints, new inner and outer tie rods
new struts and adjustable coil overs all around
almost new Si seats
GSR read disk swap
when i bought it, he wouldn't part with the hood so i just put on one from the junk yard. theres a few things she needs and i have a whole slew of parts on the way. all the body work is done and as you can tell, she's just primer but i took college auto body so its no big deal to paint a car for me.
i'm off at college right now and the car is currently at home but everything should be waiting for me when i get home this weekend so i should have updates then.
enjoy,

Re: new eg hatch (my build thread)
i also have a couple questions here:
1. the ebrake doesn't have a cable attached at all, the guy says its because with the swap theres not really any brake cable thats like "made" to fit
theres gotta be a way to get them to work if anyone knows how
2. my buddy has a everything i would need to turbo her, but thats probably not a good idea running 12:1 compression. right?
-thats all i got off the top of my head, thanks guys

Re: new eg hatch (my build thread)
94-01 integra e brake cables fit like they were supposed to be there, he probably didn't get them with the rear trailing arms and did the swap anyways.... high compression turbo can be done very well as long as the tuner is good at his job. low compression is a lot more common due to the fact that they dont detonate as easy.

Re: new eg hatch (my build thread)
i got her for 3700. not bad considering i live in illinois and its RARE to see an eg hatch with no cancer
also the PO said he had 8 grand in the motor lol
by swap i mean GSR rear disc swap, i figured that was self explanatory
thanks for the input nick, i'll go pick up that cable as soon as i can here, i'm thinking you mean the 2 door integra. right?
and i know of a shop about two hours away thats really expensive, but the tuner is really good.
i had an 88 crx, it was my first car. but i knew the d16a6 like it was nothing, lol i think i had the motor out of the car more often than it. this whole b series deal is like a different world though

Re: new eg hatch (my build thread)
thanks, i'll remember that as i scour countless junk yards
also, is it fairly straight foreword where the cable attaches to the brakes?
sorry, i've never had rear discs but i can't imagine it being very different compared to front discs

Re: new eg hatch (my build thread)
Yes, it's fairly straight forward. The piece on the end of the e-brake cable will fit perfectly into the piece on the caliper, and not only are they both plainly visible, but they will obviously look like they belong together.
12:1 and turbo can work great, but it can also grenade a motor faster than a Barrett. If you decide to do it, either install the turbo and have the car towed to the tuner (do NOT try to drive it there, even on a basemap) or ask the tuner how much it'll cost to have him/her do the install for you. Either way, 12:1 and boost should NOT be driven, period, until it's tuned correctly. Unless you like a nice, big, expensive paperweight.
Did he say exactly what that 8 grand was in the motor? He could have obscenely overpaid for all of his parts, or he could have been a damn good shopper and built a pretty solid little motor. More details, if you have them, would definitely be beneficial here.

Re: new eg hatch (my build thread)
It's most likely the timing belt. My sounded like that as I liked to have my belt on the tighter side.
On another note, it looks like that is a non-VTEC head. How do you have Type-R cams? Am I missing something here?

Good start man. Pics are a little small though.
1. I'm almost positive you can't install VTEC cams in a B1 head
2. This engine is incapable of having VTEC as it is now
3. ITR crank, rods and pistons will NOT make 12:1 compression
The guy you bought this car from is absolutely full of ****. I wouldn't be surprised
if that is a completely bone stock B18B1 from the valve cover to the oil pan.
Rebuild? New oil pump? 8 grand? Yeah right...

Re: new eg hatch (my build thread)
It's possible that it feels quick because it has a b16 transmission. Don't get me wrong, it may have a decent amount of "get up and go", but for 8 grand, it should be making loads of power. As long as you are happy with the car, that is all that matters. In my opinion, the seller was most likely full of it.
