New Dizzy?
Ok well my car as some of you know from my older thread. But for the ones that don't, it will run fine for while, and on some days ill just go out and itll jerk a little bit then stop. Sometimes when I get home it'll just cut off or sadly on the side of the road. It wont start then, itll crack just fine, but it wont start. One time when I got home I checked for spark no spark. Should that be the distributer or could it be something else? I really want to get this fixed before I pull the motor for a new swap so I can know I have a working motor as a back up or if I can sell it to a friend cause this is the only thing that has been giving me problems.

Re: New Dizzy?
Cutoff after engine warmup is symptomatic of a failing ignition coil (part of the dizzy). I would check this first, or, if the coil is on the order of six or more years old (or it is non-OEM), just replace the coil with a new OEM one. Consider replacing the igniter (also with an OEM one) at the same time, since a bad coil tends to degrade the igniter.

Well I just had the coil changed about a month ago for the same reason and that seemed to fix it for a while. No the same problem has came back. I don't think the ignitor was replaced though.

Sweet that is very helpful. It's very confusing could it seems to be either the main relay or the distributer. But my fuel pump is attached to a 2nd relay with a switch that allows me to turn the fuel pump on without the key in. But my main relay has corrosion on it so that could be it.

Bumpp
Ok so, I took the dizzy out and examined it more closesly, i noticed that one of the wires had cuts in it from being old and could possibly short it out. I checked the connection points on the igniter and on the coil at one point all of them had 5v, then i cut the key off and it went up to 12v. Idk if it was a fault of where i had used a ground or what, but after i finished with it i put it back together and started my car. It ran for a while then all of the sudden it just cut off like someone literally just turned it off with the keys. no jerks or anything.

The following are pretty well known honda online parts dealers:
www.bkhondaparts.com (Illinois)
www.slhondaparts.com (California)
www.hondaautomotiveparts.com (Rhode Island)
Give the state you live in, and someone might be able to suggest another online dealer.
According to your site, you have a JDM B16A swapped in. Maybe try the dizzy for a Honda Del Sol/CRX SiR 1992-1996, since it uses a B16A. Check with others on this.
Lots just buy a complete aftermarket distributor, typically for under $200, and say they are fine. An online place called "Distributor King" used to be popular for aftermarket dizzies, but I am not sure Distributor King is still around.

Re: New Dizzy?
Alright thanks, I live in North Carolina. But yeah I do have a jdm b16 its the 2nd gen. But the dizzy I have on it is model TD-44U.
I'll look to see where I get better prices. If I can find a OEM one that isnt a massive amount ill get that over the aftermarket.
