so i put in a new clutch and flywheel not to long ago. i bled the lines and all and it worked ok for about one night. then the next day i couldnt get it into gear. i bled the lines a few more times to no avail. the pedal feels weak. the throwout bearing moves slightly, but not enough. cars been sitting for awhile now, i cant figure out whats wrong. i even replaced the slave, but its still exactly the same. any help is appreciated. its a b16a2 in a 98 hatch

usually if the slave cylinder is bad, the MC is bad also.

The clutch on a Honda is a PITA to bleed because the bleeder valve is lower than the resivior. I suggest that you bleed it from the clutch MC for a while.

The way you bleed from the MC is to take the appropriate LINE WRENCH/FLARE NUT WRENCH (either 10mm or 12mm) and have someone pump the pedal and bleed it like you would as if you were using the bleeder valve but break loose the fitting that holds the hard line into the MC then tighten it up before the person pumping lets the pedal up.

Bleed the system from both ends (MC and SC) until you have proper operation.

did you happen to install the appropriate shim behind the flywheel to bring it out to proper height?

I am willing to bet that the flywheel dimension is different as that of your stock flywheel and your clutch system is going into "search" to attempt to compensate but cannot due to extreme differences.

I suggest you figure out the proper shim dimension and install it inbetween your flywheel and crank.

that sounds like a possiblity, how would i go about that?

ok so the clutch says when i resurface the flwheel i need to add .110 where would i be able to get a shim for this?

thats if you have to resurface the new flywheel at some point. it should be correctly machined when you got it. If the pedal feels weak and the slave cylinder is barely pushing out after bleeding, then your master cylinder is probably shot.

yea cause its a brand new flywheel. i replaced both the slave and master, although the master was used. but i got the same results both times
