Default new car or fix what i have right now???

Alright guys here I am with a 2000 Civic EX that i turbocharged and stuff and now the hg is blown. I dont know if i want to just fix it and take everything off and trade the car in for something new or If i should just fix it and then put around 3k more in mods on it. IF i keep it i have a lot in store to do to it in the next month but its just I am point to where I am not sure what I should do. I am looking mainly at mkiv jetta's and gti's but I keep hearing lots of maintence issues with them even when they are stock. Well come on honda-tech tell me what do you guys think i should do.

if you already put alot of work, money, and effort into your honda, then why not just fix it? then again if your tired of it and looking for something else, part it out and drive a crappy jetta

all cars do this man,its what they do.you buy them they break then you spend more money on fixing them.i dont see how its going to solve the problem by buying a newer car.it too will eventually do the same thing.

DONT part it out cuz the jetta will be crappy. mine is stock and i am fixing it more than driving it. i bought it for a daily driver/winter car but i have been drivng my civic cuz i know it will run.
if a blown head gasket pisses you off wait till you get that jetta and have to fix the fuel filter, drive it for a week and have to replace the timing belt. and the break lights are always burning out...
