New Axle Play? *pics*
I ordered a set of new axles for a 95 civic with ABS, and when I got them, the longer one (driver side) has about an inch or so of play in it - I can pull the joint in and out relatively easy. It doesn't have up and down play, just back and forth. Is this normal?

That is normal. The joint will have a slight bit of freeplay in the end itself. Just dont pull too hard, or you will rip the boot.
