Default Need Trans Help!!

Hey up. I just got a tranny cuz my old one was making a pretty weird noise(like a grinding noise) when i would put it in any gear and the release the clutch. It would do it when i would barely release the clutch. So i got another one. AND its doing the same thing. So im thinking its not the tranny. My clutch is pretty new. And im thinking that my axels might be bad? Any suggestions? Anything will help alot. Thanks.

common honda transmission problem=ISB, aka Input shaft bearing. Put the car in neutral, and push the clutch in, if it makes the noise when you let the clutch out, then it is probably your ISB. Requires taking apart your tranny to replace the bearing inside it.

Is that the same as the Throw Out Bearing? But anyways it doesnt do it when its not in gear. The clutch fells a little funny tho. Like if it barely grabs. Anymore suggestions? Thanks sol2hatch

no, its not the same. Throw out bearing usually makes noise UNTIL you let the clutch out, and ISB makes WHEN the clutch engages, in gear or out of gear. If it doesnt do it when it is out of gear, it may be something different.

How long ago did you swap the motor in? Did you check your clutch master cylinder? Mine started to go out on me after i swapped in the motor and put in a new clutch.

The input shaft bearing is the bearing in the center of you're flywheel. Check that... also, use the correct fluid in you're tranny.

^wrong...
Input shaft bearing is located INSIDE the transmission, on the (of all places) input shaft, at the clutch housing

He asked if the input shaft bearing was the same as the throw out bearing right after your post about the ISB I said no. I know they are diffrent. The pilot bearing is the one located in the flywheel.
