Default NEED SOME POWERR ------->read this

hey all, ok i have a 95 civy coupe with a jdm gsr in it. I have a big brake kit, short ram intake, header and a greddy evo 2 exhuast. I love the car and its def a lot better then my jdm b16 which is i sold for this but im looking for some more power. Heres the thing, i dont know if i should try to build this thing ***** to the wall. That will take tons of time and money. Does anyone know anyone who sells built motors that are reasonably cheap? like a crate race motor type deal? or should i just nickle and dime the motor i have now and in 2 years have barely 220 whp?? any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks to all who take the time to repsond!

Save your money up for 2 years then build the motor. WShat do you want to do? Forced Induction or NA? You can get an nitrous kit and get some cheap power. And no you will not find any built cheap crate motors.

Yeah, my suggestion is to do some ******* research. $5000?! Are you serious? You can get Hondata S200 and tuning for like $800 and you can get a great turbokit through our site sponsors for under $2500. You don't need to build the motor as you can easilly make 320 to the wheels with good tuning on a stock longblock.

Knowledge will keep you from an empty wallet.

5000 with "install". i see you are one of THOSE people. i really dont understand why people dont do their own work on their cars. i guess some people like having cake without actually baking it themselves

kinda reminds me of this one guy who drives an rx-7 and brags about turbo.. goes PSHH PSHH all the time yet the car has NO TURBO on it and he doesn't even know how to change an alternator belt on it. im suprised at ppl who brag about their cars but dont even work on it. BOOOOO. but the turbo thing isnt exactly an easy install but my friend who has barely that much car knowledge has done it in about a week. and neither is a motor swap less u have the tools (ive done a couple with some friends). just my 2 cents.

Some people don't have time. I have never baked a cake. And doing turbo right will cost you at least 5k.

Yea 5 grand if you buy brand new top of the line parts.....You can find so many good deals on used parts...and you dont even need hondata to tune it..U can just do the AFC hack (vtec controller) and tune it with that...It wont be as good of a tune and you wont get quite as much power but it works properly.

hondata or an equivalent is the most important part of your setup.

it will cost you at least 5 k to do it right.

you gotta pay to play.

defiantly not your definition or "right" is most likely overkill/stupid

turbo=1300
manifold/downpipe/dumptube=1000
wastegate=200
BOV=150
Intercooler=350
Intercooler piping/couplers=250
Oil lines=100
Misc Vacuum lines/fittings= 50
Engine management= Hondata S300 (600)
Injectors=300

For A Grand Total of: 4300

That is with extremely expensive stuff too, you could swap out a log manifold and make save 500 bucks, or swap out lets say a gt30r turbo for t3/t4 and save 800 bucks, there are too many way to turbo a honda, there isnt an exact science for the "right" way

So you will spend 4300 and still have a stock block and no tune.

yeah, stupid is your sitting and typing up a list of parts and prices.

that is why you are broke....

did he ever say he needs 34635623hp? he can have 320whp on the stock block reliably, so building it isnt in the costs, and lets say 500 for a tune, and then not get a gt series turbo but a normal t3/t4 wow it comes out even less than 4300, thanks though

and dont get butt hurt cause your definaition of "right" isnt right

psi means jack ****, torque and power output are maxs not psi. PSI is completely irrelevant, as for power reliably on a stock block b18 320-340 whp is fine and will be reliable
