Need some input on a solid Autox Setup
Im looking to buy a 92 Civic HB. It will serve as a 2nd car to alternate DD'ing and an Autox Car. Im new the Honda world, so I was hoping you guys could point me in teh right direction.
I know I want vtec, but im not too familiar with all the engine codes etc etc. What would you guys recommend as an affordable setup with decent power? I want to stay all motor, and I will be getting all the suspension goodies, coilovers, swaybars etc etc.
My primary car is an 02 WRX so I have enough problems with maintaining a turbo motor

it all really depends on what class you want to run in
the eg civics are easily modified to any class but most will wind up in STS or SM it sounds like you are looking at STS.
i ran STS last year in a 92 civic 4dr d15b7 (non-vtec 1.5l sohc) the problem was the motor wasn't reliable for its age so it got replaced witha 97 ex engine d16y8 (1.6l sohc vtec) but now im in sm
so it all depends on what you wan to do. the pre 92 civics do really well in sts cause of there light weight too.

it all depends on what motor you wind up with my dx came with the d15 wich is fine for a while but really can't get out of its own way.
but the plan to do suspension work would be good with this engine because the car is cheaper and honda's are extremely easy to swap motors in later.
as for bolt on's if you are thinking of changing engines later i would get one that might be swappable to another engine or the engine you might be thinking of swapping in.
