Subframe or subframe brace? They are different. And which one are you talking about, front or rear?

I think it's a safe assumption the OP is talking about subframe braces, and not a subframe assembly...

Well then, to cover my bases, if you're actually talking about a subframe assembly OP...get one out of a junk yard, or from Majestic. OEM or none.

Subframe braces do absolutely nothing but look pretty if you don't have a swaybar to go with it

But I like asr or comptech, black works is good if your on a budget

If you are only getting it for appearance, then get what ever you like most.. If you actually have a swaybar and need the brace, choose depending on the size of the swaybar and brand/type. ASR, Function7, Beaks, Comptech, Whiteline, etc all offer braces.

Do not get tie bars confused with braces. Blackworks and Beaks are not braces.

But they both make braces as well as tie bars.

I have both the Beaks SRK and Tie bar on my '95 EX. I've had them on there for at least 6 years now with a 22mm ITR bar.

Beaks DOES NOT make a subframe brace as we are discussing it. They made useless tiebars and reinforcement kits that are similar to the backing plates that come with real FULL subframe braces. Neither one of those products prevent tear out. Blackworks only LOOKS like a subframe brace. If you doubt that go on Youtube and see the video of it and how it's designed. It's just a glorified tiebar.

I wouldn't trust BWR on anything even borderline mission-critical. They're a glorified "eBay" company.

ASR/Function7. I'm sorry, I thought Beaks made a subframe brace, but evidently the spot reinforcements are the best they have.

The beaks kit (not the tie bar) does exactly what a subframe brace does. Does it look like a brace? No, but it is effective for the 92-95/94-01 crowd. I wouldn't trust it on a 96-00 though.
But to say it's useless is just not true.

and fack no, I wouldn't trust, recommend that piece of **** BWR "brace". damn thing is 3 pieces, held together with junk hardware, and doesn't even include backing plates like the ASR/Function7 brace.

Only the tiebars are useless. And I wouldn't say it does exactly the same as a solid brace. Recommend an ASR for a 5th and 6th gen? Sure. Recommend the Beaks SRK kit for both? No.

Brace and reinforcement are synonymous...

Beaks does make a subframe brace, but just like 98civdx, it doesn't have a big plate across the subframe. But the pieces that actually prevent tear out are the same basic design as all the other companies. I wouldn't say the reinforcement kit is useless, as I've had their kit on my car for 6 years with a 22mm rear bar that I've autox a couple hundred times with, driven tens of thousands of miles on the street with and have use 3 different suspension setups with. I have not had a single issue with it. The tie bar, although maybe completely useless, fits perfectly and is just fine on the car. Real "FULL" subframe brace? Last time I checked my Beaks parts are real, they exist and are on my car lol.

I highly recommed the Beaks kit for both 5th ang 6th gens. They redesigned the kit for the 6th gens and it works. I know a number of people personally whom I've recommended the Beaks kit for on their cars and they have not had any issues. Nothing against ASR, I know dozens of people who use their products and are happy. But there's nothing wrong that I can see with the Beaks kit.

I'm not suggesting to purchase BWR stuff, as I'd never use their products on any of my cars. Just showing that they sell braces and tie bars.

I would. The Beaks SRK is effective and it's been proven many times.

I know several people who use it, and I know there many many more here.

and the only reason why I personally wouldn't recommend it for a 6th gen is because I've yet to see any one use it. But I have no issue recommending it for the EG/DC.
