Default Need Opinions on Buying a Used Civic.

So I went with my cousin to look at a 94 Civic EX. It has 4 wheel disc/ABS. 164,XXX miles. Clean title, second owner. They owned it for a year. The problems are: scraped QP(looks like it got side swiped around the wheel area, has a little bit of rust), front bumper got hit(no dents or cracks, just scuffed), sunroof needs to be pushed a little by hand to get it moving(might just need lubrication). I drove it and it drove good, no leaks, no sounds.

I did a compression test and the results are:
1. 175
2. 178
3. 160
4. 179

Should I be concerned with the 3rd cylinder?

We talked it down to $2300 from $2900. They are doing the smog check. Is it worth it? Anything else I should check for?

With the other..generally little annoyance problems along with the cosmetic problems (and sometimes body work is not cheap) I'd say 1800 at most as well, sounds like they may be just trying to gouge the price because it's a Honda.

There is rust there because the paint got chipped off in that area.

Anyways, my cousin has been looking for Civics for a few weeks now, and most of them are in the 3-4k price range with the same mileage and minor exterior damage. Only the lower models like the DX are around the $2000 price range, but with over 140,XXX miles as well.

Anyone know anything about the sunroof needing a little push and shove? I have a similar problem.

My EX that happened once. Scraped the roof (didn't go all the way up b4 it went back) .

I just lubed it with white lithium grease and it hasn't happened again.

So what do you guys think about the compression results? This car will just be a daily driver and will be used to from San Francisco to Santa Cruz(74miles) once a week.
