IIRC there was a recall/TSB on the synchros for the Sis, but I don't think it was for 1st gear. Try taking your foot of the clutch and putting it back in and trying if you haven't already.
I'll try to find a link to recalls and TSBs.
EDIT: The link to recalls and TSBs;

Ya i release the clutch slowly while im in neutral and try to put it in 1st, sometimes i get in and most times it dont. Sometimes i need to shift to 2nd then 1st, but most of the time it doesnt work so i have to go in 2nd. My 3 friends are also having the same problems with the tranny.

Re: (stock93cx)
I thought I was the only one experiencing this problem on my D-series tranny. Does it from time to time but mainly when the clutch isn't fully depressed. Never heard of any recall for that.

Re: (eg6h8k)
yea try a better tranny fluid, i like how every one praises the honda mtf as being the best ...I know of two that are better already, the GM stuff and also the royal purple MTF works great, i noticed smoother shift right after I put this stuff in. "USED to run honda mtf"
Hows the clutch? my car did this once when i was at the track and my clutch was going bad. put in new clutch and was fine ever since....Note to self - Stock honda clutch and nitrous don't go good together. my tranny - 00 si b16a2
