if you dont care about the shift **** then try using a hack saw on it, that would be your last option in my opinion.

i think its a nice ****..ive know and seen guys use strips of duck tape to fill in gap between the shift lever and inner cavity of the ****..then using super glue to tighten it..if they ve done this.. ?? the hacksaw idea might be ur only hope of getting it off...or replacing the shift lever...guess the previous owner never intend d to take it off again

Is their a little ring collar on the bottam of the ****? If so, spin the collar off and there should be 2 or 3 allen screws, remove those. If it is just the old twist style know, get some vice grips for leverage, although that will jack up the shift ****....if you can post a better pic of the shift know so we can see whats going on.Later!

Re: need help with shift ****??? (iceburgslim)
there is nothing from the bottom that is holding it. theres about 4 holes where scres are sappose to be at, but there arent any screws. but on the top theres like a little cap where i can slightly move it little side by side. maybe a 1 cm movement or less. anyone think there might be something from the bottom of the shifter that is holding it? i doubt it though, its one of those that you twist off. im trying to hold my patients a little longer till this weekend, if i cant take that sucker off, im gonna grind it off with my grinder.
