you need a bolt that goes under the shift **** to keep it from moving once you get it traight. but it will make your shift **** taller

you don't need a bolt....shove paper in the bottom of the shiftknob and tighten it all the way....if its not where you want it add more paper. Worked for me and my skunk2

i kinda ghetto fab-ed electrical tape thick enough so the boot wouldn't drop down -- you can set it wherever you want. Ghetto, but it works.

that looks worse than having the boot sag.

I found a different kind of solution.
I took a piece of tin, and cut it round, then drilled a hole in the middle, big enough to fit over the threaded part of the shift lever, but not big enough to pass over the ridge and onto the main part of the shift lever.

Then put the boot back on, and the round tin can be bent and shaped to hold up the boot as well as give it some fullness at the top keeping it snug at the shift ****.

I should post some pics.

i dont know what is wrong with all of your boots but with mine, all i have to do is losen my shift ****, pull the boot up to the **** then hold it ther while i tighten the **** back down and it stays where it should.

good advice, i just rolled a few rap-a-rounds of electrical tape then shoved the boot over the tape, holds good, look good.
