need help with resverse lights not working
so, i just found out that my reverse lights are not working. checked fuse, bulbs, are good. however, have no power from wires to bulbs.
not sure where the reverse switch is on tranny.
i think it might be that switch. it's a b16 tranny but from another si. not sure if the previous owner installed/connected reverse switch when he swapped tranny. is that it circle in red in pic? i know it supposed to have to wires but not sure where.

That is in fact a breather cap. Look further towards your transmission mount posts and you'll find the threaded hole for the reverse switch.
Should have a green and black wire coming out of it and another wire of another color.
Give us some information on the car? Was this car originally a 5 speed or was it converted (like mine was) from an automatic? I had a lot of reverse light issues since my car was once an automatic.

there is what looks like a bolt on the front, bottom side of the trans. It may be sheathed in rubber, but it will have a plug/wiring connected it. This is the reverse indicator plug.

If you just want to test the switch itself, set your multimeter to test continuity and hook the probes up to the terminals in the switch and depress the switch itself. You should get continuity.

Jump the harness side reverse light plug, the reverse lights should turn on. To jump the plug use a piece of wire and insert it into one side of the plug then the other end of the wire to the other side of the plug.
This is what it should look like. Make sure not to let it touch any metal.
