Need help picking a suspension system....
I was gonna turbocharge my car next, but since my suspension is all wacked, I think I'll do that next. I mean, come on, power is nothing with out control right?
My current suspension setup ( 99 civic hb ) consists of this:
Stock shocks / struts
Spring progressive springs in the back
Cheap R1 coilover sleeves on the front
I have this setup because of thieves were trying to steal my suspension stuff, and this is all I had left and also, because I was on a budget.
My budget right now is: 400 - 950
My problem is that I don't know what is going to suit me best.
My car is a daily driver, which which I like to drive somewhat aggressively at times , possibly would like to get involved in some type of autox later on too...
So i'm kinda looking for competitive autocross setup, but still is streetable.
These are my choices ( and you can suggest something else if you think it might be better) :
Apexi World Sport Dampers $944 shipped
i think only one shock setting and adj. springs
Tein super street coilover kit $950 shipped
16 way adjustable shocks and adj. springs
Tokico illumina coilover set $730 ( shipped ? )
illumina shocks and adjustable springs
And then i think landspeed racing (.com) has some packages as well like 4 tokico (blues?) with skunk 2 springs for around $500.
Anyone have any input for me?
Also what about the JIC suspension systems?

Re: Need help picking a suspension system.... (euclid)
You can get TEIN SS for 875 to 900 shipped easily, do a search and look up some best buy and classified ads on them to see who sells them on this board, quite a few options.... but i payed 875 shipped for mines........
i would say
Tein SS or Koni/Custom rate GC
Apexi WS suspension is way overpriced IMHO

What about the H&R setup? ok? not ok?
Designed from the ground up as coil-overs (not just a modified shock body), the H & R units are hand-made in Germany by H&R Spezialfedern, under ISO9001 Quality Assurance Standards. Strict attention to function of the complete suspension system is the number one design priority.
The specifications of the H&R coil-over is what makes it a true Tuner component; shorter shock body, shorter shock rod, custom designed dust boot and precisely calculated bump-stop height and hardness (shore). The system is completed with a specifically valved shock matched with high quality H&R Springs.
899 plus 36 bucks shipping
I always hear good things about H&R

i have always heard good things about h&r too but those coilovers are not good, so ive heard. i was recommended the tein ss over them, they are in the same price range.

<FONT COLOR="green">Well, looks like I should go with either the Teins or a custom rate spring and some nice shocks...Seems the most bang for the buck.
