NEED HELP MY CIVIC IS BURNING UP FUSES LIKE CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!
well like the title says i have a 2000 civic auto, and everytime i do freeway driving and i hit 60mph my number 15 fuse gets burned up. the speedometer arrow drops and if i dont change it my cars starts waisting a lot more gas. and it does not run all that well once that fuse is poped. i check for what fuses that was and the honda book told me it was for the alternator sensor? but im still dont get what the alternator has to do with it? please help me out i need to fix this before i waist all my money on fuses.

unfortuanetly i really don't know which fuse you are talking about, but if i was you, i would grab a voltage meter and start looking for the short. this will be your most accurate and quickest way.

There was a TSB on this for the '98 Civic. The wire harness was subject to chafing as it went through the firewall or near an engine mount. Sorry, I don't recall the exact details. The fuse 15 and other symptoms are similar.

I'd go with the voltmeter idea, I don't know which one the 15 amp fuse is, but I'd go over the whole system to which it protects tooth and nail and check for frays or rubbing wires, or wires touching the chassis or other bare metal areas.

i dont think its a wire touching metal because this only happens when i hit 60mph so i dont think i have short some where. if i did the fuse would probably get burned as soon as i inserted it into the fuse box under the dash. so i dont think its a short. but i will still check with a volt meter. any more ideas.
