Default need help going crazy lower hose cold, fan dont come on

i've been going crazy trying to figure this out and iam right where i started. first i noticed my fan not comeing and my lower hose is cold. and top is hot, so whn i was changeing it i took off the top hose and it was broken the pice whr the hose goes onto.so there must be some pices in there somewhere i tried to flush the system out, then i changed the thermostat and fresh coolant.same problem. what ever i do its the same and the temp is way under half. the fan works i put power to it and it came on. i also changed the temp sensor. then i thought it was the water pump but it doesent leak or make noise so i dont know what to do if u have any ideas please HELP by the way its a d16y8 sohc vtec

normally a hot upper hose and cold lower hose points to the thermostat. but sicne you changed it i would say you need to bleed your cooling system to get out any air. air in the system can cause the thermodtat not to open and fan not come on.

to bleed the system run the engine with the radiator cap off, turn heat on. continually top of the radiator until both hoses are getting hot and the fan cycles on. if for any reason the car starts overheating before the fan comes on then look at other issues like possibly faulty thermostat or bad fan switch

I wouldn't do that method ^.

There is a bleeder valve on the top of the coolant hose on the top. run the car and open the valve. This will release any air in the system.

I had a very similar issue as you and just bled the system, and I have had no issues so far.

Actually, there is no bleeder valve on the D16Y8, as the rad cap is the highest point in the system.
