Default NEED HELP FITTING 17" RIMS ONTO MY 93 CIVIC, OPINIONS?

hey guys, so if you take a quick look at my profile you'll read that i had just added 17" rims onto my 93 civic lx 4 dr. the problem is that it doesn't seem to fit properly; i'll be putting new skunk2 coilovers and shocks because i wanna drop the car. but the wheels are hitting the side of the body. now a friend of mine said that i can "bang out" (hammer out) the rear sides to make it a little wider, so that when i drop the car the wheels'll be tucked under or at least won't hit the body.

does anyone know a better way?! opinions would be highly appreciated.

the best thing to do is probably just get smaller wheels...

rather than banging your fenders with a normal hammer...there are people who can roll your fenders so you wont rub as much

Best thing to do is post in the correct forum. Not the CRX/EF CIVIC forum.

ok well sorry that im supposed to be able to tell that without being a mod...and yes, lets bash him for posting in the wrong area...you're welcome by the way, i like participating.

back on topic:

OP: if you want to stick with your 17s your going to have to hammer your fenders or have a body shop do it (recommend that this way if anything goes wrong they are liable)...but if i were you, id sell those 17s and try to either get the same ones in 16x7s or get a different wheel that you like..i have 16x7s on my civic and i dont get any tire rub at all.
