Default Civic 93 and New Rims Problem ...

Hey guys, i am stuck and need help..

i have a 93 Civic LX, just got 16" rims from a friend (they were used originally on a mazda protege , sedan) the good thing is they fit, the problem is when there is more than 2 passenger (not including the driver) in the car the rims rub agains the fender lips, or also when i take a sharp turn. i did a quick reaserch on google , they are saying the roll the fender lips or get a new spring, and all the spring i have seen they are used to lower the body (and shouldn't i be rasing the body??), now it just doesn't make sence to lower it, it will rub even more ??

don't know what to do, love the rims , it looks good, but they are sitting in the garage, i don't wana spend $1500 to $2000 for rolling the fender lips.. anyone has any idea ?

that was the reply i got from one of the car shops, but i guess i better double check that .. some one suggested to get Integra springs ... don't know if that will work, i checked ebay, there are lots of different springs and i have no idea which one will do the job..

on ebay the real cheap coilovers will solve your height problem but the ride will be another problem. usally the springs are way too stiff and you will become a bobble head, shocks will help just a bit.. imo i think you should try to roll you fenders. worse comes to worse buy some ground control coilovers and if possible buy shocks..

ok, so the first option which would be a quick one to try, is to roll the fender lips.. if not then go to new springs which i think would need professional help....
how i am suppose to do it (rolling the fender lips)? do u guys know any link online that would walk me through it? or any quick tips ?

Thanks....

well how much larger are these tires compared to ur old ones? Why not just by tires with less side wall (middle # is a % of first # which is the width)

They are low-profile tiers which came with the rims, and i got a good deal on them. so buying new tires will not fit on the rims, i rather spend that much money on the Civic it self.. what u think?

Im willing to bet the offset of the wheel is not correct for the Civic. Take a picture so we can see how it looks and sits on the car.

i have rolled the fender lips and now when the car is heavy, it doesn't rub but when i turn (with passengers) the tires rub again.... i'll post a picture tonight ..... it is interesting that it worked on Mazda with no modification .....

is your car lowered at all? what size are your rims? and what size are your tires? i had to put a set of 16s on my hatch when i first got it, it wasn't lowered but the wheels/tires i borrowed were 16x7 offset was good cuz it was for a civic, but the tires were 205/45/16s, i couldn't even pull out of my driveway without it rubbing. so there could be many factors to why your wheels/tires rub. offset isn't for honda, tires are too damn big, car's lowered too damn much.
