Default NEED HELP! engine harness- 99si engine into 97 ex

I need some help modifying the stock 97 ex harness to work correctly on the 99 si engine. I have searched everywhere for the information with no luck. ANY help would be greatly appreciated as I have never moded a harness before. I have a p28 chipped with a basic B16 map for now and an OBD2a to OBD1 harness. Thanks!!

There really shouldnt be any problems...
You'll just gonna have things not plugged in
Thats about it
SI harness is way better than dealing with a cx harness
but even that really aint a big deal

The 99-00si harness will not work unless you change almost every harness in the car. It only has 2 ECU plugs on it, the third comes off the dash harness and if you use the 99-00 si dash harness it doesnt plug up to the other harness for the sunroof, brake lights,.... I haven't tried to hook it up yet because I have been told that I will have to extend some wires, change a few plugs,...... I just need to know what those plugs are, what wires need to be extended ect. so I will know if this is something I want to do myself or pay $100 to a local shop to do it for me.

if you want to use the 99si harness in your 97 you will need to convert the underdash harness to 99-00. but if you use the 97 ex harness its plug n play.

I used a ex harness when I did my swap and I know I extended the vtec wires. I think I had to extend the wire for the coolant temperature sensor also, I think the is the sensor directly under the vtec solenoid, but I dont remember. Also the plug for the first oxygen sensor is routed to the front of the engine on the EX harness. You can either extend the wires, or you can undo the loom and electrical tape from around the harness that the wires for the O2 sensor are run threw and pull them out so they will plug in on the back side of the engine where the O2 sensor is on the B16, its kinda aggrivating but thats what I did. There may be a couple plugs that you dont use, one will be the crank fluctuation sensor. On the b16 its the plug that is near the crank pulley. The plug on the ex harness is different and will not plug in, but since your are running a p28 ecu there is no need to hook it up cause the ecu doesnt look for it.

I've always thought you should just resuse the EX engine harness, just plug everything in. I think you need to add a wire for the knock sensor, but if you're using a P28 then you prob don't.
