I'd want proof it was rebuilt first off. If it was a full rebuild he's sure to have receipts of many things he would've had to purchase for it. Secondly, it sounds fine to me. All honda engines sound like that. But that doesn't tell you ****. Everyone who's owned their car for a period of time knows how to work their car to deceive anyone. There's not many trustworthy car owners anymore. Especially civic owners. 5hrs is a long way to drive man. What else did he tell you about the car?

He basically just tell me it is a rebuilt engine ...never involved in any kind of accident and it has clear/clean tittle and oh the car has 200K miles . We agreed on $3500 as a base line . What do u think ? He said he is a mechanic so he did all the work except for the head to that was sent it to the shop . These are the pics that he sent but there is no way I can tell this is B16 belong to this car or what but here they are ,

If he can supply receipts for at least the parts, that would tell half the story, but it wouldn't tell you what (if any) clearances he used, torque specs, or any of the other important things. It might be worthwhile checking into the shop he works for, and seeing if they're a reliable shop for things like this. If they are, chances are he did a proper job of it.

the seller probably just googled "Honda engine rebuild" lol if you're smart and notice slip ups like that you'll be fine. OP however did not....75mm vs 81mm not even once.

Wouldn't be shocked if the sellers next move is to ask you pay for it via Moneygram because they're in a another state and their friend is handling it for them.
