Default NEED HELP ASAP-Car Wont Start After Hitting Puddle

Wuts up guys about a week ago i was driving and hit a decently big puddle at a good rate of speed, long story short i thought i had wet my distributor becuase the puddle was on the passenger side as is the dizzy. With the old dizzy on the car started when it wanted to and ran like dog **** at low rpms. i ordered my new dizzy thinking the old one was wet and it came yesterday. It was put on, the timing is on, im getting fuel, i changed the plugs and yes im getting spark, im running out of ideas on what could've got wet or ruined and im leading to think this problem is electrical. So all you guys that know the sensor and electrical parts good please gimme an idea or two. Btw the car is a 97 ex coupe and i have an 00 gsr thats obd2a if that helps

Maybe you got water in your intake filter or something?

I have the same car as you (97 civic ex)
and I'm pretty positive that it tough to short anything out
"hitting a puddle".
I drove through 1 1/2 feet of water for several hundred feet, all seals
were perfect, all elec. perfect. Only thing that happened was water got
into the a/c compressor bearing.
Do you have an aftermarket intake?

Where is your air filter located? Its possible that it may have sucked some water into your motor.

Hey man if u have a cold air intake there is a good chance that u hydro locked ur motor. U sucked water into the motor and it froze. So my best bet is to rebuild or replace.

its the right dizzy and no it hasnt ran since the new ones been on, i also tried using the old one again, im leading to think it has nothing to with the dizzy but instead might have wet or ruined a sensor that night

please explain this one

have you checked all the connections on that side of motor? Grounds? starter wires? Battery? It could be something very simple. I ran my em through a puddle one time and my car stalled on me. I thought it was FACKED and I have a CAI. I let it sit for a little, it started and ran like poop all the way home. I let it sit for couple days and BAM everything is A OK.
