I have a 97 civic ex coupe m/t. i spun a rod bearing and shot the rod through the oil pan. i bought two d16y7 and i pieced them together to make one good bottom end. i had the rotating assembly machined 10 under and the full rotating assembly was balanced. slapped my factory d16y8 head on and mated the motor with my factory ex tranny. i finished the swap thursday at my college (South Central College in Mankato Mn) It started right up but did not idle. we gave it a shot of propane to rich out the air/fuel to clean the **** out of it and then it idled. i'm still getting a check engine light and it pulses when givin a fixed throttle position. i was wondering if anyone from the Mankato area could come to my school and help me out. your time would be well rewarded and you would be helping out a fellow HT member! i live in Norwood which is about 15 minutes west of chaska and i could drive the car home tuesday so if anyone is around the chaska area message me and we can work something out. Sounds to me like a bad IACv.
What harness and ECU are you using to run this?
