I have a 97 civic ex coupe m/t. i spun a rod bearing and shot the rod through the oil pan. i bought two d16y7 and i pieced them together to make one good bottom end. i had the rotating assembly machined 10 under and the full rotating assembly was balanced. slapped my factory d16y8 head on and mated the motor with my factory ex tranny. i finished the swap thursday at my college (South Central College in Mankato Mn) It started right up but did not idle. we gave it a shot of propane to rich out the air/fuel to clean the **** out of it and then it idled. i'm still getting a check engine light and it pulses when givin a fixed throttle position. i was wondering if anyone from the Mankato area could come to my school and help me out. your time would be well rewarded and you would be helping out a fellow HT member! i live in Norwood which is about 15 minutes west of chaska and i could drive the car home tuesday so if anyone is around the chaska area message me and we can work something out. First of all, whats the CEL for?
Sounds to me like a bad IACv.
What harness and ECU are you using to run this?
